3) INTERPLANTING
This technique takes advantage of the fact that some vegetables grow quickly while others take their time. For example, if you plant carrots and radishes together, you can harvest the radishes in about 30 days when the carrots are still quite small. Another option is to combine a vertical vegetable (e.g. tomatoes) with a low-growing crop (e.g. melons).
Here are some inter-plant combinations that work well.
Grow melons and squash under stake tomatoes.
Surround corn with lettuce or peas with radishes.
Pair fast and slow veggies like lettuce with tomatoes, beets with runner beans, spinach with winter squash, leeks with sweet potatoes, and radishes with sweetcorn.

4) INTENSIVE PLANTING BEDS
You can save space by arranging plants in a grid pattern. The surest way to increase yield from a vegetable garden is to reduce the distance between plants. This is very similar to Square Foot Gardening. To start an intensive garden, make raised beds of any length, but limit their width to 3 to 4 feet in diameter so you can reach the centre of the bed from either side. While standing in bed isn't necessary, it's a good idea.
Enclosing a bed with vertical boards not only makes it tidier, but the floor won't fall in your paths. It will also be much easier for you to install row covers or set up supports for vertical cultivation.
Before planting the bed, prepare the soil by digging at least 8-12 inches and turning over shovel by shovel to loosen and aerate it. Add organic matter like compost or manure. The more organic material you mix, the better. Then run string lines to create a grid. The grid helps you position young plants at the right distance from each other.
Use a trowel or dibble to dig holes for graft-sized vegetables. Carefully remove the seedlings from their containers, then grasp the leaves to guide them while supporting the root ball. Make sure you put plants in their holes at the same depth they grew in your container. Firm the soil gently over the roots around the stem. This will help get the roots in contact with the ground. Make evenly spaced holes in the bottom with your finger. when planting heirloom seeds directly in beds. Be sure to follow the Seeds recommendations to know how deep to make the depression.

3) KUPANDA
