2 AGRIBUSINESS – 2.13 - Kilimo House Innitiative

 
Due to a looming food crisis because, we recently launched the One million kitchen garden initiative. The aim of this initiative is to cushion vulnerable households across the country by ensuring diet improvement through access to fruits, vegetables and herbs to boost their immunity.
 
A start up kit comprising seeds of various leafy vegetables such as chicha, spinach, kales, night shade and also small livestock such as rabbits and poultry is being provided to vulnerable households.
We recommend the use of vertical farming technologies such as multi-storey gardens, hanging gardens, staircase gardens, cone gardens etc to be efficient on space and water management. Our demo garden is open for viewing by the public at
Kilimo House every Wednesday and we shall also be releasing videos on ‘How to’ set up different kitchen garden technologies in this month.
 
We have supported 206,742 households in setting up Kitchen gardens and shall continue supporting more households in this initiative. In order to find out if you’re eligible for a start-up kit, kindly contact your

Kwa sababu ya shida ya chakula inayokuja kwa sababu, hivi majuzi tulizindua mpango wa bustani ya jikoni milioni Moja. Madhumuni ya mpango huu ni kusaidia kaya zilizo hatarini kote nchini kwa kuhakikisha uboreshaji wa lishe kupitia upatikanaji wa matunda, mboga mboga na mimea ili kuongeza kinga zao.
 
Seti ya kuanzia inayojumuisha mbegu za mboga za majani mbalimbali kama chicha, mchicha, korongo, kivuli cha usiku na mifugo midogo kama vile sungura na kuku inatolewa kwa kaya zilizo hatarini.
Tunapendekeza matumizi ya teknolojia ya kilimo wima kama vile bustani za orofa nyingi, bustani zinazoning'inia, bustani za ngazi, bustani za koni n.k ili kuwa na ufanisi katika usimamizi wa nafasi na maji. Bustani yetu ya demo iko wazi kwa kutazamwa na umma kwa
