LESSON 5.16 POTATOES - INTRERROW DRIP SYSTEM


 

Interrow SUBSURFACE DRIP IRRIGATION   

For processed markets, there is more flexibility in systems to choose from. It is possible to use one drip line/tape per row of potatoes, or you can also use a re-usable pressure compensated system with a drip line installed every two rows. 

Typical Installation:

·         160 cm center's

·         1 drip line per 2 rows of potatoes distanced 80 cm apart

·         Drip line is placed in the shallows of the ridges

·         Heavy wall (above 30 mil wall thickness) PC drip line is used

·         Heavy wall allows for multi-season reuse

·         PC drip line provides accurate flow over wide pressure ranges

·         (sloping round and    long-run lengths)

·         30 cm dripper spacing with 1 lph dripper

·         Shallow burial of the drip line is recommended

TIPS:

This system is excellent for leasing land as it is portable and flexible for a wide range of other configurations.

It is not recommended for saline wate. As potatoes are sensitive to salinity, it is better to use a 1 drip line/tape per row system as this will push the salt residue away from the roots and leach into the soil.

Avoid having dripper spacing of more than 30 cm as this can result in tuber around the outlets of the dripper, resulting in inconsistence tube size.

Kwa masoko yaliyochakatwa, kuna unyumbufu zaidi katika mifumo ya kuchagua. Inawezekana kutumia mstari mmoja wa matone/mkanda kwa kila safu ya viazi, au unaweza pia kutumia mfumo wa fidia unaoweza kutumika tena na laini ya matone iliyowekwa kila safu mbili.
Ufungaji wa Kawaida:
• 160 cm vituo
• Mstari 1 wa dripu kwa kila safu 2 za viazi zilizotenganishwa kwa sentimita 80.
• Njia ya matone imewekwa kwenye kina kirefu cha matuta.
• Ukuta mzito (zaidi ya mil 30 unene wa ukuta) Laini ya dripu ya PC inatumika.
• Ukuta mzito huruhusu matumizi ya misimu mingi tena.
• Laini ya kudondosha kwa kompyuta hutoa mtiririko sahihi juu ya safu pana za shinikizo.
• (mteremko wa pande zote na urefu wa kukimbia kwa muda mrefu)
• Nafasi ya dripu ya sentimita 30 na dripu 1 ya lph.
• Maziko ya kina cha njia ya matone yanapendekezwa.
VIDOKEZO:
Mfumo huu ni bora kwa kukodisha ardhi kwani unaweza kubebeka na kunyumbulika kwa anuwai ya usanidi mwingine.
Haipendekezi kwa maji ya chumvi. Kwa vile viazi vinaathiriwa na chumvi, ni bora kutumia njia 1 ya matone/tepi kwa kila mfumo kwani hii itasukuma mabaki ya chumvi kutoka kwenye mizizi na kuvuja kwenye udongo.
Epuka kuwa na nafasi ya matone ya zaidi ya sm 30 kwa sababu hii inaweza kusababisha tuber karibu na sehemu za dripu, na kusababisha kutofautiana kwa ukubwa wa mirija.
