LESSON 5.62 NUTS – MAXIMUM GROWTH WITH DRIP SYSTEM


 Maximum Growth:

Surface & Subsurface Drip

 

When you use drip irrigation, you have the flexibility to choose between surface and subsurface installation. Choose the option that best fits your unique needs.

SURFACE DRIP SYS ETEM

Drip lines can be installed on the surface and generally a heavy wall pressure compensating (PC) drip line is used as mainline.

 As the trees grow, so does the root zone. Because the drip line is on the surface, it is easy to move the

 drip line further out in accordance with the growth.

Surface Drip Line: Growing with Your Crop

 Grow stages 0 – 3rd year

·         1 drip lateral per row that is placed very close to the tree itself.

·         0.4 – 0.6 m dripper spacing and 1.0 – 2.5 lph flow rate depending on soil type.

·         To allow for future growth and water requirement, a second drip line lateral should be installed parallel on the other side of the tree. However this is not used for the first years of growth.

Grow stages 3 – 10th year

Both drip lines are moved to the middle of the root zone (0.75 – 1.0m) away from the trunk of the tree. Generally there is a correlation between canopy size and the root zone

Both drip lines commence operation due to increased water requirement.

Growth stage 10+ year

Some manufacturers recommend at this stage installing an additional 1 – 2 drip lines. This is an excessive cost and can be avoided by ensuring that the initial system has capacity for growth

Drip lines should be moved in accordance with the root zone.

 SUBSURFACE DRIP IRRIGATION

The drip line is buried at a depth dependent on the soil condition and crop type.

Although some crops such as almonds have extremely aggressive root systems, preventing root intrusion is managed by not allowing the soil to become deficit of water. This prevents the roots ‘chasing’ the water and therefore protects the drip line. A benefit of subsurface drip line is that it does not interfere with machinery operation.

 To avoid soil-suck back, anti-siphon or no-drain drip lines should be used.

Unapotumia umwagiliaji kwa njia ya matone, una uwezo wa kuchagua kati ya usakinishaji wa uso na chini ya uso. Chagua chaguo ambalo linafaa zaidi mahitaji yako ya kipekee.

Njia za matone zinaweza kusakinishwa juu ya uso na kwa ujumla laini ya kufidia ya shinikizo la ukuta (PC) hutumika kama njia kuu.
 Wakati miti inakua, ndivyo eneo la mizizi. Kwa sababu mstari wa matone iko juu ya uso, ni rahisi kusonga
 drip line nje zaidi kwa mujibu wa ukuaji.

Njia ya Matone ya Uso: Kukua kwa Mazao Yako
Hatua za ukuaji wa mwaka 0-3
• dripu 1 kwa kila safu ambayo imewekwa karibu sana na mti wenyewe.
• Nafasi ya dripu 0.4 – 0.6 m na kiwango cha mtiririko wa lph 1.0 – 2.5 kulingana na aina ya udongo.
• Ili kuruhusu ukuaji wa siku zijazo na mahitaji ya maji, mstari wa pili wa njia ya matone unapaswa kusakinishwa sambamba upande wa pili wa mti. Walakini, hii haitumiki kwa miaka ya kwanza ya ukuaji.
Hatua za ukuaji wa 3 - 10
• Mistari yote miwili ya matone husogezwa katikati ya eneo la mizizi (0.75 – 1.0m) mbali na shina la mti. Kwa ujumla kuna uhusiano kati ya saizi ya dari na eneo la mizizi.

UMWAGILIAJI WA MATONE YA JUU
Njia ya matone huzikwa kwa kina kinategemea hali ya udongo na aina ya mazao.
Ingawa baadhi ya mazao kama vile mlozi yana mifumo ya mizizi yenye fujo, kuzuia kupenya kwa mizizi kunadhibitiwa kwa kutoruhusu udongo kuwa na upungufu wa maji. Hii inazuia mizizi 'kufukuza' maji na kwa hivyo inalinda njia ya matone. Faida ya njia ya matone ya chini ya uso ni kwamba haiingiliani na uendeshaji wa mashine.
 Ili kuepuka kunyonya nyuma ya udongo, mistari ya kupambana na siphon au hakuna-drain inapaswa kutumika.
