How to Decide: 1 or 2 Rows of Drip Line is a common question and an important topic that needs to be expanded upon.

Blueberries are shallow rooted but will but will extend to the width of the raised beds (up to 1 meter width).

Providing water to more of the total root diameter will lead to increase nutrient uptake, reduced plant stress, better growth of young stems, and larger berry size.

Two drip lines also act as an insurance policy. Because blueberries are so dependent on irrigation for water and nutrients, they are more sensitive to dripper failures. If only one drip line is used and the drip line is under mulch or a weed mat, it is difficult to detect blockages. By the time you know, it will be too late

Yield result of 2 treatments (equal discharge of both systems per meter)

Treatment 1 : 1 drip lateral per row

Treatment 2 : 2 drip lateral per row.

 

Results and conclusion :

Using only 1 drip lateral. Only one half of the ridge was wet and only limited roots received irrigation. The reduction of wet area leads to water deficit in the plant.

With 1 lateral: YIELD 2.436 kg/ha

Using 2 drip laterals wet almost all the ridge was wet resulting in much healthier growth.

With 2 lateral: YIELD 4.335 kg/ha

 

If using one drip line, placement is critical. The ideal location for single drip line is a minimum of 10 cm away from the base of the plant as that is where blueberry feeder roots are located.

You should avoid placing the drip line near the center of the crown as it increases the risk of root diseases such as phytophthora.

Jinsi ya Kuamua: Safu 1 au 2 za Njia ya Kudondosha ni swali la kawaida na mada muhimu ambayo inahitaji kupanuliwa.

Blueberries haina mizizi ya kina lakini itaenea hadi upana wa vitanda vilivyoinuliwa (hadi upana wa mita 1).

Kutoa maji kwa zaidi ya jumla ya kipenyo cha mizizi kutasababisha kuongeza uchukuaji wa virutubishi, kupunguza mkazo wa mimea, ukuaji bora wa shina changa, na ukubwa wa beri kubwa.

Laini mbili za matone pia hufanya kama sera ya bima. Kwa sababu blueberries hutegemea sana umwagiliaji kwa maji na virutubisho, ni nyeti zaidi kwa kushindwa kwa dripper. Ikiwa njia ya matone moja tu inatumiwa na njia ya matone iko chini ya matandazo au mkeka wa magugu, ni vigumu kugundua vizuizi. Kwa wakati unajua, itakuwa kuchelewa sana

Toa matokeo ya matibabu 2 (kutokwa sawa kwa mifumo yote kwa kila mita)

• Matibabu 1 : dripu 1 upande kwa kila safu

• Matibabu 2 : dripu 2 kwa kila safu.

Matokeo na hitimisho:

• Kutumia dripu 1 tu ya upande. Nusu moja tu ya tuta ilikuwa na unyevu na mizizi ndogo tu ndiyo iliyopokea umwagiliaji. Kupungua kwa eneo la mvua husababisha upungufu wa maji kwenye mmea.

• Kwa upande 1: MAVUNO 2.436 kg/ha

• Kutumia sehemu 2 za matone yenye unyevu karibu tuta lote lilikuwa na unyevu na kusababisha ukuaji wa afya zaidi.

• Na 2 kando: MAVUNO 4.335 kg/ha

Ikiwa unatumia laini moja ya matone, uwekaji ni muhimu. Mahali panapofaa kwa njia ya matone moja ni umbali wa angalau sm 10 kutoka chini ya mmea kwani hapo ndipo mizizi ya malisho ya blueberry inapatikana.

Unapaswa kuepuka kuweka njia ya matone karibu na katikati ya taji kwani huongeza hatari ya magonjwa ya mizizi kama vile phytophthora
